I attended a hearing in this town. After coming from a far away region, I arrived super early for the hearing, with my bladder ready to burst.  So I immediately went inside the building and looked for the CR. What greeted me really made my blood pressure rise! How can they do this to a Hall of Justice???? Unused toilet bowls on the corridor Straight ahead to the left of that corridor is the comfort room. I felt so sorry for all the employees working there because everyday this is where they try to find comfort. The place was literally "trash"!  One cannot possibly find rest or comfort in the CR. Oh, and mind you, there were only two filthy toilets that may be used.  They also have dripping flush; meaning, you can't use the flush.  You have to fetch water from another cubicle, use a filthy gallon as a dipper and open the filthy tap. While waiting for my order at the Senate Lounge last Thursday, I checked out the menu offerings in a stand in the middle of the table.   After a very boring day (and a day full of waiting), the menu brought some much-needed smile to my face. Okay, okay, so I'm not a grammar major.  But I just couldn't help but take photos of the menu card. Covered by Whipped Cream? That must be a lot of whipped cream. The next one is funnier! I love chocolate "mouse" cake, but I have yet to try the "meaty" variation. Leche Plan!!! Maybe it's served on paper! Fruits Shakes anyone? Remember that song, "watermelon, watermelon, papaya..." I am not bragging (well, probably I am), but I think I knew how to spell watermelon as early as six or seven years old.  Or maybe the person who prepared this thought that double letters sound more classy! Or, since yellow is spelled with a double "l", so why not spell melon with a double ...

In my previous post , I mentioned my sunflowers in the garden. This morning when I woke up, I went outside, said hello to the sun and the clouds and my sunflowers.  I went near one to smell it, and alas, the sunflower is taller than me. I grabbed my phone ( hence the not-so-sharp pictures) as evidence to share with you all. Am I bothered? Well, not really.  It just made me thought about how short I am (but compensate in weight). For someone who is a little on the short-side (I'm not being politically correct here since anyway, I'm talking about myself here), being short has its ups and downs. Let me go to a few of the "downs" first: a. It's hard to reach objects that are really high or a bit far (from my view); b. One step of a tall person equals three steps for me; for someone on the average height (Filipino height, I mean) it's two steps for me; c. I am easily outrun/outwalked by anybody who is taller than me; d. If someone taller share...

I know... it's not a tree. But I planted this sunflower! Mother Earth is probably fuming now for bearing the noxious fumes and pollution that we humans have caused.  It is no wonder that several diseases have sprouted, with its origins coming from who-knows-where and may just probably be caused by dirt/garbage/bad smell. So in our own little way, let's do our part in making our home, our planet, Mother Earth a really nice place to live in.  This includes recycling and reusing and one of the most simplest acts --- planting. Before my husband and I bought a home, we made sure that no matter how small our house will be, there will be a space for gardening. After several years, we now have an orange tree (though my family says it's a dayap tree, but the man who sold it to me said it's a tiny orange tree),  we have papayas, malunggay, palm, alocaria (is that how it is spelled?) and even bamboo! It's really a great thing to wake up with the sunrise on your door...
